Acupuncture
Acupuncture is over 3,000 years old and is associated with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Very fine, sterile needles are placed into the relevant area of the body and left in position for up to 20 minutes. A course of minimum six treatments is recommended.
Many patients find acupuncture gives them some relief straight away. Others find that the pain becomes more manageable after a few treatments. Unfortunately, some people find that it does not help.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture is associated with meridians and lines of energy, or ‘chi’. We practice Pragmatic Western Acupuncture that uses trigger points and regional points, as well as TCM points.
There is an increasing body of good basic science research which shows the effects of acupuncture on the body, including its regulation of nerves and the release of a myriad of neurotransmitters and hormones.

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue.
It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure and helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue.

Shiatsu
Shiatsu is the Japanese word meaning ‘finger pressure’.
A Shiatsu treatment also utilises thumbs, palms, knees, forearms, elbows and feet.
Pressure is applied to the areas of energy lines (meridians) to promote good health by ‘stimulating the body’s flow of energy’ (Chi).

Reflexology
Reflexology is a gentle form of therapeutic treatment applied to the feet (and hands).
Reflexology is considered to be a holistic healing technique that aims to treat the individual as a whole, in order to induce a state of balance and harmony in the body, mind and spirit.
Reflexology is based on the belief that there are reflex areas on the feet (and hands) corresponding to all the parts of the body, including major organs.
The therapist stimulates and works these organs and systems through the reflexes areas on the hands and feet, applying pressure with thumb and fingers.

Reiki
Reiki means ‘Universal Life Force Energy’; it is a form of massage therapy which originated in Tibet and has been practiced for over 2,500 years.
‘Chi’ is the term used by the Chinese mystics and martial artists for the underlying force or energy from which the Universe is made.
